The fifth event of the Smithland Pool Division started out the day with light winds and a temp of around 62 degrees at the take off at 5:30 and partly cloudy skies. Anglers reported catching their fish early before the sun got high. A total of 115 fish were caught that weighted a total of 228 pounds. A total of 21 boats out of 24 weighed in a 5 fish limit. sOuThern IL dIvIsIOn 6-28-09 The 1st place team of David Smothers and Greg Marlow re- ported catching their 5 fish limit using jigs and worms in the buck brush in 2 to 4 foot of water on points and pockets. The teams total weight of 15.35 pounds earned the team $1073.00 and plaques. The 2nd place team of Brad Schroenrock and Bill Wooden re- ported catching their 5 fish limit on the main lake rocks and pock- ets flipping jigs in buck brush and willows. The team had a total weight of 13.41 pounds that earned them $656.00 and plaques. The 3rd place team of Cliff Pass and Roger Beczkala reported catching their five fish limit using sweet beavers and brush hogs in the buck brush in 2 to 3 foot of water that earned the team $401.00 and entering the option money worth $140.00 the team earned a total of $541.00 and plagues. The big bass of the day was caught by the team of Tommy Bunes and Ryan Abney. The team reported catching the fish that weighed in at 5.17 pounds using a Paca craw in the willow trees on a main lake point. The team earned $210.00 and a plaque.

sOuThern IL dIvIsIOn 8-01-09 The fourth event of the Southern IL Division started out the day with light winds and a temp of around 68 degrees at the take off at 6:00 and partly cloudy skies. Anglers reported catching their fish early before the sun got high. A total of 94 fish were caught that weighted a total of 167 pounds. A total of 17 boats out of 22 weighed in a 5 fish limit. The 1st place team of Bryan Mitchell & Nick Sisk reported catching their 5 fish limit using jigs and buss baits early in a creek 2 to 6 foot of wa- ter. The teams total weight of 14.85 pounds earned the team $1126.00 and plaques for the first place win and entering the option money worth $170.00.
