oland Martin; Denny Brauer; Al Lind- ner; Gary Dobyns: names that could occupy their own wing of the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame; each now has a son – Scott, Chad, Troy and Richard, respectively – fishing as a pro. Scott Martin already has over $1 million in tournament winnings to his credit. Troy Lindner is a relative new- comer going through what his father de- scribes as “the bruised years” of competi- tive fishing. Regardless, the perception is that having a world-renowned angler for a father is an enormous advantage when it comes to making it on the pro circuits. Yet the burden of expectations can be a heavy one. Just ask Dale Earnhardt Jr.
