every division within the U.S. Angler’s Choice organization boasts a team such as Pennsylvania’s Stan Sypeck and Bob Makarewicz. Typically, terms like “dominant”, “forceful”, and “con- sistent” are adjectives reserved for a team that is local to the bod- ies of water in which they prevail. This is not the case with this duo however. Stan and Bob com- pete in the Region 4 Oneida Lake Pro Teams Division – a division which has been home to the last two Region 4 Tournament of Cham- pions. As a point of reference, Oneida Lake, near Syracuse, New York is three hours away from their homes near Hazleton, Pennsylvania. This formidable team have been tournament partners for the past six years. Each have been bass fishing individually for over 15 years, fishing PA Federation events, club tournaments, and the BFL and Weekend series tournaments prior to joining Angler’s Choice in 2003. From it’s inception in 2003 the Oneida Pro Teams Division of Angler’s Choice has proven to be a popular trail averaging between 25-35 teams each of it’s first six years. Despite a growing “who’s who” list of serious competition Stan and Bob’s names can always be found near the top of the standings at every tournament. These multiple Angler’s of the Year winners have numerous victories under their belts, including an unprecedented 5-in-a-row run to begin the 2006 season. The incredible amount of prize money they have won has been significantly enhanced through the Skeeter Boats Real Money program, which paid them $3000 con- tingency money for each win.

Both are excep- tional soft plastic’s fishermen who more often that not bank on the reliability of a Yamamoto Senko. Stan and Bob both run Skeeter/Yamaha/Lowrance rigs but each has his own preference when it comes to hand-to-hand weapons. Bob can be found casting St. Croix rods attached to either Shimano or Abu Garcia reels spooled with Suffix line. Stan, on the other hand prefers a Falcon rod/Quantum reel combination threaded with Trilene mono- filament or Fluorocarbon. On rare days when not competing on the water you might find them in front of the TV catching up on BassMaster epi- sodes or channel surfing to Sportscenter to review the previous day’s scores. Stan enjoys spending time with his kids outdoors and hunting when he’s not on the water or at work as a Journeyman Lineman for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company where he has been em- ployed for 24 years. Bob, a Vietnam veteran, retired from the Pennsylvania Power and Light Compa- ny in 2003 after 36 years as a mechanic and supervisor. His time away from An- gler’s Choice is spent mostly at his 50-acre farm woodworking and doing home im-
